Post Retrofit Evaluation

Once you have completed your energy retrofits, your Energy Advisor will return to your home to conduct the Post Retrofit Evaluation. The purpose of this evaluation is to determine the improved EnerGuide Rating of your home, and to gather information required to process applications for rebates, where applicable.

The process usually takes less than an hour, and involves the following steps:

  1. Review and document the energy retrofits you have completed since the first evaluation.
  2. Perform the blower door test in order to determine the change in the air leakage rate as compared to the first evaluation.
  3. Obtain copies or photos of receipts for retrofits that are eligible for rebates.
  4. Obtain signatures for any rebate application forms we submit on your behalf.

The post retrofit evaluation is also an opportunity for you to ask your Energy Advisor any additional questions you may have regarding any energy retrofits you may be planning to undertake in the future. Within a couple of weeks of the post retrofit evaluation, an official EnerGuide label will be mailed to you, confirming the new EnerGuide rating for your home. This is proof that your house was tested under official guidelines from Natural Resources Canada by a licensed advisor. Having this label is becoming increasingly relevant upon resale of existing homes.

Sustainable Housing will complete and submit any applicable rebate application forms on your behalf. Rebates will be mailed directly to you!
